Power supplies for low-powered amps may have choke-input filters, which make them benign as far as electrical noise is concerned. With proper design, the supply draws current throughout the AC power wave form and does not ring from sudden current shutdown during the cycle. Such supplies are impractical for high-powered amps. However, even if the actual current consumption is small, the power supply may have a capacitor-input filter and be a source of electrical noise. Some are more noisy than others.
You can determine which types of supplies are in your amps, preamp, and phono stage by inquiring of the manufacturers, or just looking at them. The filter chokes look like additional transformers but only have two wires coming out of them.
If you ever add a digital source, you need to keep in mind that most CD players are sources of electrical noise.
