I have a very complicated system that includes 18 seperate units all connected to one amp. This is Vintage Pioneer stuff. EVERYTHING is powered from a single power cord from My HT3500MKII Monster Products PowerCenter and few of the units are dasiy chained into the backs of other units. But all the power (including for my TV DVD and VCR all come through that one power cord. OH and before someone pipes up about an overload. IF every single thing was on and operating at full draw I would only be at 66% of the rated working load for the PowerCenter and at 50% for the 20 amp cicuit it is connected to.Once I solved the gound loops caused by my FM antenna ground and cable grounds my system is nice and quiet.
SO in my opinion a single line as long as you have a good safety margine is a good way to go. I do suggest you make sure that circuit is protected with something like a PowerCenter or filter or what ever version of surge protection you like.
