BX (metal spiral armor) cable might sound better...

the reason for this is fairly straightforward... in BX the conductors and the conduit are unitized. The conductors are tightly held within the confines of the the BX, so there is little internal vibration of the wires. By contrast there is considerable rattling of hot and neutral wires against each other and against the walls of the rigid (EMT tube I assume) pipe. I know this without question because when I had a photo studio you could hear the entire length of the conduit clatter like mad every time the stroble fired and the capacitors of the flash charger reloaded. If you are going to this effort, the ONLY way to go, nothing else is in the same galaxy in terms of clarity, is the Oyaide milled aluminum/carbon fiber wall plate with one of the Oyaide receptacles (many prefer the "red" model, the "purple" is my favorite) available from Joe Cohen (he of the Prana wire, I believe) at the Lotus Group. Once you've heard what a proper receptacle + cover sounds like your Home Depot items will make your skin crawl in a bad way. If you're really hot to trot you could have your BX cryo treated, Virtual Dynamics may offer this at an, ummmm, premium price. Carefully (!!!) put a fine film of Walker SST on the wire tips that will lock down in the breaker and the neutral buss bar. Put some SST on the screws that fasten the receptacle to the outlet box for maximal ground connection.
