OK - Glad the strength meter works. Regarding the tuning meter; your new meters must be much less sensitive than the stock ones. Reducing the series resistors too much may effect the correct operation of the detector by loading it down too much. What drives the resistors/meters? If a transistor or IC buffer circuit, you could perhaps increase its gain to compensate. Also/or - if you can get inside the new meters themselves, there may be a series resistor that you could reduce in value or eliminate to increase their sensitivity.
