I do not see a 300 ohm to 75 ohm balanced to unbalanced balun in the Pioneer P-90 at the 300 ohm antenna input. With regard to receive sensitivity, the Pioneer P-90 may have a 4 to 1 impedance mismatch reducing sensitivity on the RF front-end with 300 ohm antennas.
Something odd is my Pioneer P-90 never had the AM section filled with the parts on circuit board for the AM side of the AM-FM tuner. Perhaps I own an economy Pioneer P-90 version.
