Talk about upgrading tube tuners lately

I believe the two best tuners for modification are the Fisher KM-60 with a 12AX7 on the audio out and EICO 2200 with an E80cc replacing the 12AU7 audio out. I pick these tuners as having the simple & effective circuits, good engineering design without large issues appearing over the years, good tube line-up and enough I.F.s for reasonable selectivity with an outdoor rotatable antenna for best sensitivity & selectivity.

The Fisher is common, the Eico is quite rare now.
