I have a couple of 310Es, and they're the best sounding tuner I've ever heard (I've never had the opportunity to hear a 10B or a number of other highly-respected tuners in a good system). However, since budget is an issue for the writer, I recommend the SUMO or GAS Charlie (which I also have). It sounds pretty darn good and is dead reliable, which unfortunately you just can't say about tubed equipment.
