If I were going to build an external tube de-multiplexer from scratch, which unit should I copy?
Criteria:
1) Very good performance with low noise, as transparent as possible.
2) Simplicity preferred, but not at the expense of performance.
3) Good documentation available.
4) Parts availability (which will take me some research, of course).
The Eico has a pretty good reputation, but Fisher, Sherwood, McIntosh and others made them too. If I were going to build one of them from scratch (blatantly ripping of someone else's design), which one would it be?
