There are lots of good ones, can't tell you about the bad ones.
Ones I own, or had extended play time with, and liked -
REL Precedent - the best mono tuner, great design, build, reception, and sound
McIntosh MR-67, MR-65B - very well built, good sound
Fisher KM60, FM100B, FM200B - Reliable and among the least finicky stereo sections (those modules were made in Germany)
Scott 310/350 series - The 310 monos with Scott MPX adapters, and the 310E stereo tuner are great sounding and were well designed. The 350B/C/D are also good sounding, not as good for reception as the 310s
Sherwood S-3000 series - Very good sounding and great deals, but many require rebuiding/repair/adjustment. Very plentiful, a seemingly endless supply out there.
