Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Good sounding tuners?

I've got an Amber Model 7 tuner and it sounds better than my Onkyo 9090. I'm quite sure the Onkyo is a more accurate and a better tuner from an RF stand point and it sounds pretty damn good. Better than the Pioneer 9100 I replaced when I bought it. But still I prefer the Amber.

I've got a Sumo Charlie coming, should arrive early next week. I've heard all kinds of things about this tuner, some of them on how great it sounds, most of them on how bad it is from an RF standpoint. Well for $150 I think it's worth checking out for myself - hey it looks pretty damn cool and for that kind of money why not?

Being in Phoenix with only 5 or 6 stations of interest I've never had a problem getting any station of interest. So I am mostly interested in hearing tuners that sound good.

I was going to try to spring for a new Accuphase tuner (it looks awesome) this year but have decided to put it off for at least another year or two so I can concentrate firming up the basics of my two audio systems. Given the price of worthwhile used tuners I'd like to consider trying several of them until I can find those that I like the best.

Any suggestions on good sounding tuners?
