Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Re: Best sounding tuners?

Hi, Al:

I own a lot of fine tuners, tube as well as solid-state.

Overall, the best sounding among them include the Marantz 10-B, McIntosh MR-71, the Sansui TU-9900 (stock) and two of my three Yamaha CT-7000's (which just returned from servicing and are now working again).

I believe that the Yamaha is perhaps one of the finest sounding analog tuners in existence. Thhough it is not noted for being an outstandingly sensitive tuner, when presented with a strong signal, few others can match it sonically.
