Hi, popsy:
IMHO, if you want to retrieve stereo from your Fisher 50 tuner, the Scott adapter generally seems to be pretty much the best choice in universal vintage units for the purpose at hand.
As I mentioned, earlier, my personal experience with Fisher units (they made several different models), has not been the best.
I once took a Scott LM-35 multiplex adapter and tried pairing it with a Fisher FM-90R tuner and it worked very well, indeed. I also ran it with a Scott 310-D I own and the results were quite spectacular.
Fisher made some truly wonderful sounding monaural gear, but finding an appropriate and functional adapter to pair up with it is the big issue.
Speaking of which! I have an Eico MX-99 multiplex adapter at the house right now, but have not yet powered it up with my Variac, nor tried using it with any monaural tuners in the collection. There is also a Canadian ElectroHome adapter, again a unit which has not been tested in any way.
Perhaps I should give them both a try. Actually, I have no intention of keeping either the EICO nor the ElectroHome units.
Good luck to you!
