Your post is your opinion, but it's not correct in many aspects.
Analog FM will be here for another 50 years. It co-exists with HD, like mono and stereo, or color and B&W. No one is buying new HD radios, except a handful a gadget gizmo nuts like us.
Second, I can't see where you could, with the same antenna, have horrific hiss in stereo, and perfect reception in HD. The HD signal is transmitted at 1/100 the power of the stereo signal. My big problem with weaker stations and HD is the signal is constantly shifting in and out of HD, with obvious bothersome change in sound and many times an echo (if the station does not have timing perfect). Usually in these conditions, analog stereo is fine. Worst case, I'd actually rather listen to mono hiss free analog than HD.
Last, almost all stations around me transmit 2 HD streams, so the bitrate is 44K bits each. This bitrate is less than 3% (or 3 bits for every 100 you have on the old redbook 16 bit CD). The highs are totally reconstructed from almost nothing, and to me sound dull and empty on 44Kbit HD streams. If you cymbals that sound like nails in a metal bucket, I guess it's fine.
