Victor--Although it took me a couple of years to save up for it, I finally purchased a BAT VK 50SE Preamp. I have not been disappointed. It is truly a statement product. As I am new to tubes--I would appreciate a little more guidance on the subject of "Standbuy". At this point I don't know enough to make my own choice.

If the life expectancy of the 6H30 tube = X hours when cycled
standby/on/off,what would the effect on tube life be when left on standby long term ? If you listen everyday are you better off to leave the preamp on Standby ----and maybe shut it OFF if you are going on vacation or will not be listening for some period of time ?

I would really appreciate your thoughts.
