Hi Steven,Thanks for the reply. This is a newer preamp - about 6 months old. I just turned it on one day and I heard hiss. I thought it was the tubes going bad on me so I ordered a couple of different sets of tubes to try out. All of them exhibited the same hiss, and when I put the stock 12AX7's back in (which were dead quiet before), they too had this same hiss. It has a ever-so-slight amount of buzz now as well, but only when you put your head within a foot or so from the speakers.
Strange? Has me scratching my head......
