Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |

My usual tube vendor is out of stock on Genalex KT 88 power tubes. I need a matched quad. So I ordered two matched pairs from a different vendor. I received 2 matched pairs but the pairs differ over 25% on Gm. 8300 on one matched pair and 6200 on the other matched pair.
In a Cary SLI-80 Int. Amp should I split the mixed pairs and put one of each pair in each channel? Or should I put a matched pair in each channel?
Would bias change more rapidly if the pairs are split? The Cary is manual bias.
