I don't believe anyone else ever made the WE437A. My Wavelength 45 amps use them and I just found the original info on the amps and it shows it as a 437/5842. Without looking at my tube stash, I'm guessing that the amps came with 5842s because I did buy 4 WE417As years ago and have been using one pair since then.

There's some info on diyaudio that also suggests the 6S45 might work.
