So you think all rectifier tubes sound the same. If you are in NC, I would love to show you how very wrong you are. My Stratus Amp uses 3 different tubes. The one having the most effect on amp sound is especially selected 6N1P, the input tube. The next tube that has a touch less effect on the amp's sound is its rectifier. I have RCA 5U4Gs, Ken-Rad and Tung-Sol as well as U52 and WE422as. They all sound different in my amp. The least effective tune sound wise, fut still flavoring the amp's sound are the power tubes. I have RCA, Sylvania and the stock Chinese. They each flavor the sound to a certain degree.
