I am kind of curious myself. My Silvertone amp from '58 still has the 4 original Sylvania smoked glass tubes and they tested as strong as new last October during a maintenance test. The tech that did the testing commented in 60 years they may still test like new. Of course I have a stockpile of 6v6gt tubes on hand, but as long as they sound great w no issues they will stay in service. I have other amps that use the 6v6gt and curiously the only failures I have had are with newer producion tubes.
