You need to keep in mind that the bias setting on the SLI-80 only sets the overall bias for each pair of tubes. There is no provision for balancing the bias current between each pair of output tubes. Or for that matter monitoring the individual bias current in each tube. A useful modification would be to add either 1R or 10R current sense resistors in series with the output tubes' cathodes and test probe pin jacks so each tubes bias current can be measured. Needless to say, matched output pairs are a necessity.
