may be your output transformers will mismatch with KT120 and KT90 too. in this case you will be disappointed. both tubes will probably sound muddy, lacking dynamics and punch. i made this experience. in my welter monos, a typical 6550 gear, 120 and 90 sound great, better than every other KT88 but in my octave RE280 Mk2 both types are boring. btw: ocatve now offers the new RE290 which especially is designed for KT90 and KT120 also. (higher plate voltage? modified transformers?).
