How old is your House or apartment? Check to make sure that your grounded neutral and Hot conductors are in the proper position (polarity). Does your place use a (2) conductor with a ground scheme? Does your power transformers get HOT?
Having Hum with every amp makes one conclude that it's not the amps, it's the power/ground you're providing...well designed amps don't have a noticeable hum regardless of method of amplification..
If your grounding scheme is sound, you could still be getting noise and even DC in your service. You can get hospital grade isolation transformers if you find that you simply have a noisy service.
