The Silver 88 is not much different than my silver monos or silver 90. One of the best sounding tubes is the JJ, but they have not exactly cemented their name with reliability. If you get a good pair, they could last years. I have tried Gold Lions, Sovtek, and Winged C, Shuguang, and the Shuguang and Jj were the best sonically followed by the Sovtek. The GL were too mellow in my system, yours may be different. Jallen
