hello peter,

in my gear (MC275 or welter ACPP60 monos) the 6550 C always is "the better KT88". KT88 C sounds too bright in my ear (...in my gear) and is lacking bass performance. these experiences have been reported by many other listeners. just try and find out the SED 6550 C beeing the first choice superior the SED KT88 C.
