1. you can read threads and posting anywhere you want: SED 6550 C is the first choice when you have no vintage power pentodes in stock! has better/fuller midrange than KT88s imho what many, many other freaks confirm.

2. i drive KT88 treasure Z in my MC275 actually and it is still the best modern KT88 i have ever heard.

3. KT90Ei was made in ex-yugoslavia (in Nis, serbia). there is no need to seek type II imho. i have heard type III and even type IV and they sound as great as II. the quality of II and IV is said to be suspect but if you find a good used matched an tested pair/quad your amp would probably sing with those.

4. stay away from GL KT88 reissue! i bought them twice and sold them twice again. they make their own sound that you would not like when compared with SED 6550 C, KT90 Ei or KT88 Z...
