i own lots of these orange labeled AMPEREX ECC88 and each wears the declaration "MADE IN HOLLAND" but on piece was definitely made by amperex NEW YORK! (wears some etched stars on bulb). so the former tube manufacturers obviously fooled customers!

i even have a Philips Miniwatt branded "12AT7" twin triode tube that definitely is a 12AU7 (!) testified by etched code. so customres were even fooled twice...
