I've had a VAC Standard LE preamp for about 7 years. Originally bought it to go with a VAC PA100.100 driving some Merlins. Great combo. Sold the Merlins and amp awhile ago after getting laid off. Didn't part with the Standard LE. It's lovely and I could live with it forever. I have a ton of DIY amps I built and it works with them all very well.
My only issue was one channel had a bit of a drive problem with a little Class A amp I built. Some debug found one of the original TrT Wondercaps (Infinicap) was failing (big 2.2uF/600V). Talked to the main TrT dude and he replaced one for free and I bought another one and upgraded them to the TrT Dynamicap.
Kevin Hayes is real nice guy who answers all my emails and gives good advice. I bought my preamp second hand and it didn't come with a remote. Turns out most all Standard LEs come pre-equipped with remote controlled volume knobs, so I finally bought a remote from them. Having volume adjust from my seat is a great feature.
I have no experience with Audioprism, but have been a happy VAC customer.
