SoundGuru,A photo would help, but this tube reads as an ordinary dimple disc getter Amperex ECC88. The type code "GA" is ECC88 / 6DJ8. The "4" in the date code is actually a tiny "Delta"- right triangle- so this came from the Heerlen Holland factory and was made either in November(= the "K") 1968 or 1978- probably 1968. I think the dimple disc getters were among the later designs, but I'm not sure Philips was making tubes at Heerlen after about 1975-6. The "9" should be the week of November, but as there is no 9th week, perhaps it's a "2" or "3" ?
I have a couple of Valvo 6201's with the dimple disc- but not a 6DJ8, so I can't comment directly on the sound qualities. Still, if it's is in good condition, it should be quite good- not in the top top tier, but still nicer than modern production in some ways.
Cheers,Bambi B
