I have not heard the Black Treasure KT 88s, however I bought a quad of "A" stock BT 6CA7s from GF at an introductory sale price of 25% off. The sound smokes Svetlana EL34s, NOS Tesla (not JJ) EL34s, and Genalex re-issue KT77s. More resolution, better balanced and much larger sound-stage.IIRC GF claims they re-test all the tubes they get from the factory on an Amplitrex and grade them "A" or "B" stock themselves. I have not tried tubes from the Chinese Ebay seller and have no opinion on the respective claims of either seller.
Parts Connexion is now carrying the Black Treasures at GF's "B" stock prices. I have no idea where they get them or how they compare to the other two sellers' tubes.
