I'm not sure how they sound in an audio amp, as my amp uses 12AT7's, but they sure sound good in the guitar amps I've run them in. Long shiny blackplates w/D-getter from late 50's - early 60's. Very nice indeed!
Both the 12AX7 and 5751 Raytheons are pretty darn good in comparison to new production and much of the NOS types.
I wonder why the companies making tubes today don't reverse engineer these premium tubes of the past and concentrate on these. Seems GT have done that to an extent with their 6L6GC (personaly haven't tried them because I have NOS). ????
