The 6211 is closer to 12AU7. Do you mean "6201"?

The 6211 has been mentioned here as a substitute, but for the 12AU7. The 12AT7 is something like 65, a 12AU7 is 20 and a 6211 is 27. A 2005 post said the Telefunken 6211 is a nice substitute- great soundstage- for a 12AU7 when the system is not bright or forward.

The 12AT7 substitute I feel is the one to look into is the 6201, and perhaps that's what you meant. The 6201 is the military 12AT7 designation along with 12AT7WA. If you can find the Valvo, Hamburg, blue label, triple mica, gold pin 6201, or the Siemens triple mica E81CC / 12AT7WA / 6201 are the best 12AT7's I've tried. The Valvo is dynamic, refined, and open and the Siemens is punchy, transparent, and energetic, and very detailed.

As always, a search by tube type on this forum will yield a lot of previous discussion- the 12AT7 has a thread about it every couple of months!
