Did you mean in general, or the AVO?
I bought my B&K 650 mutual transconductance tester pre-calibrated for $300. There are several people who perform calibration services on the most "popular" testers. Prices of the testers range wildly.
What to get depends on your goals. If you just want to make sure the tubes are not bad - no shorts or leaks, and get some RELATIVE idea of life left, a basic emissions tester like the B&K 606 I have is good for that, and can be had for well under $200, often less. If you want to get a better idea of just how good the tube really measures, a calibrated tester that tests mutual transconductance is needed, but as mentioned by Ron, that still doesn't guarantee the tube will be quiet, or won't be microphonic. For me, the key is to know the tube tests and measures well before sticking it in my amp with speakers/headphones connected ;)
