Back when I was much more of a noob, I bought a pair of Haltron branded 6SN7WGT's. I thought I got a major steal because I got a NOS pair for $40. They were clearly supplied by Haltron - real boxes, etc. I hadn't looked at the tubes in about a year though. I know more now than I did then. When I saw this ad, I went and looked at my "Haltron Made in England 6SN7WGT" - and they are Russian. Brown bases, but otherwise identical to the tube in that picture, which I am now wise enough to know (due to the plate structure and color, and inverted saucer getter) means they are Russian and can be had for $2 per tube.
Oh well - live and learn. The good news is that I AM wiser now than I was then - and that is half of the battle.
