buyer beware ;-)

The GL's bring more money today because many people like yourself, and even the sellers themselves, think they are premium tubes. And I'm glad too, because I can get the blue-labels a bit cheaper! I have (new) blues that test for 10,000+ Gm just like new NOS GL's (some I understand test up to 12,000 Gm!) Compare that with new GL re-issues which seem to max out at 8500 Gm (on a good day ;-). The Penta SC's BTW are the real 'exact copies' of the original Genalex KT88's, solid plates, exact duplicate cooling fins, and all. The New Sensor GL's are nothing like the originals; although I didn't think the Pentas sounded any better/different than the GL reissues. Both have the heavy bottles; maybe they should spend a bit more time/bucks and pump them down more ;-)
