I have purchased 8 Quads of JJ KT88's, hundreds of hours, Zero failures in the past year. In the past year I have had failures of EH, Winged C, but the longevity of the Golden lion was not assessed. It sounded too congested to listen to for long. They likely sound different in different circuits. Who you buy the tubes from is important, and how they grade them. Roger at Ram labs likes the Lions, and says they have good consistency, so I would say they are good if he says so. He is usually very accurate, and checks a lot of tubes.
With the JJ I can check the Bias every month and it varies less than 2%, month after month. Associates who do R&D like them because they run them real hot, at 65-75ma/tube. I run them at 45-50ma. If I get some failures, I will reassess. Until then, they have not been any trouble, and sound great. Jallen
