after I "Pick the scale that most closely matches the transconductance of the tube", do I set the dial to the dot that corresponds to the appropriate scale (in this case , a 6SN7- 3000 scale), or to the actual number on the roll chart, which in the case of a 6SN7 would be 79.
Maybe an easier way of asking the question would be: When testing a 6SN7 for mutual conductance, do I set the ENGLISH dial to 79 or 73? On my Hickock 533A, there is a three pole switch that allows you to set the scale at 3000, 6000, or 15000.The Hickock 800A does not have this switch. I am still confused. Please help. Thank You, Paul
