No question that I can hear the differences in various 6AS7G-type tubes that are the power tubes in my Singlepower, Woo, and Darkvoice amps. I can also very easily hear the difference between different EL84's in the two amps I have that use those.
I certainly agree that the driver tubes matter more, but I also agree that once those are in place, swapping power tubes can make quite a difference (again, this is in headphone amps - I haven't used a tube power amp for speakers in years).
