Little update... One of my rectifier tubes apparently is going bad. Saw this neat lightning show yesterday when I first turned it on. Got my replacement RCA 5U4GB tubes in today and the sound has cleared up a bit, but the highs might still be too soft.
Put the EH KT-88 tubes back in and got the clarity back but miss the powerful bass and big sound.
Maybe the winged C tubes sound perfect in the right system, but as someone pointed out today, my Adagio's are a bit soft in the highs so using these tubes didn't help.
