I've heard/seen that comment about AR amps in this Asylum a few times.
This is a dumb question - but I'll ask anyway - If they work the 6DJ8's really hard, is it by design to allow amp to sound really good (I've never heard one) or can it be slightly modified in a way to lessen the workload on those tubes but still sound good?
12? that's a bunch. I'm sure you stock up on those. Will the JAN Philips/Sylvania 6922 work in your amp?
BTW - I use the A-frames in my amp and the pre is loaded with them also - I think it uses 5 of them - very nice sounding tubes.
