Using a 6922 in a circuit for 6N1P

OK, after an extensive search here, I can see that it's not a good idea to drop a 6N1P in a circuit designed for a 6922. But what about the other way around? If the circuit is designed for a 6N1P, can you drop in a 6922 without issue?
