Greetings-I wish that I could help you out but I am still very much in the learning process myself. I wouldn't let the "availability" issue enter into the equation as these tube regulators seem to be quite plentiful, with NOS selling for under $5.00 each. The reason that I am using the 0D3 in my project (26 preamp/tranformer output)is that the schematic calls for 150vdc for the B+, so it was a match made in heaven. I got very lucky on this one however, as I had purchased an electronic contraption on Ebay for the tranformers (UTC LS-12X,two UTC A-18), and as a bonus got a ready built power supply that just happened to put out 150vdc regulated. I'm using this platform to breadboard the 26 preamp. Regards, wpod ------ ps- the 0D3 is more visually appealing than a zener as well, but you knew that.
