I find tubes like the KT66s (power tubes in general) to take up to a 100 hours to settle in and reveal their true goodness. Running music through them is probably better than just powering them up.I had sme KT88 Shunguang that were underwhelming at first. It was probably the third try of using them (over many weeks) that I finally went....wow, these are pretty good. So be patient.
