If your tansformer will handle the extra current drawn from the CV378 (2.8 amps) compared to the 5AR4 (2 amps) then give it a try. The indirectly heated CV378/gz-37 has a voltage drop that is pretty close to the GZ-34, so your amp should operate at close to the same parameters using this tube. If I'm not mistaken, the 274 B is directly heated, draws 2 amps, but has a greater (30 volt?) voltage drop. Good luck, wpod
