that Groove Tube rates them for guitar amps. Musicians love the distortion. Groove tubes says 7-9 grade tubes are for audio amps. Last time I thought about it, audiophiles like a clean distortion free sound. GT told me the 10s are too clean and sound brittle/bright. My GT E34LS are all 9s. I'll bet the 7s sound more full and juicy, but I love the speed and dynamics of my 9s.
