When I thought about ordering my V12i, Bill Cowan, a reviewer , Cary owner, and member of this forum , convinced me to order mine with Electro Harmonix EL34s . I have only A/Bed it against my set of EH 6CA7s. I like the EHEL34s better since they are more dynamic with a better high freq extension. Some members swear by the SEDs/Svetlanas. Do a search on this forum for lots of opinions, then order them from one of our sponsors who know how to match them up for the V12 like Upscale or Jim the Citation amp guy.
Did you buy some different NOS 12BZ7? RCA and Raytheon are leading the pack in my amp. You should be able to find matched pairs fairly cheap.
