Am I being unreasonable, or...

Am I a fool?
Last August, I purchased a pair of monoblocks from dealer who would be instantly recognized by most people here. He agreed to sell my old amp on consignment; and I shipped it to him on August 26th. After a couple of months went by, I sent him a note, inquiring if my amp had sold yet. He replied on Nov 12th, that he had just recently sold it; but he wanted to wait a while longer before sending me a check--in order to give the buyer his full 30 days to return it. I assumed that I would have my money no later than the middle of December. Having not heard anything from him by the end of December, I contacted him again He told me that he would go over it with his account manager, and make sure the check would be sent out promptly. By the end of January, I had still not received a check. This time his response to me was that he had just returned from CES, and was backlogged--He would make sure that the check went out promptly...

Well, I still have not received my check. Am I being unreasonably impatient, or am I being taken for a fool?
