I tried these tubes in Unison Research Sinfonia amplifier with rather good results and with a Chinese Image 34i amplifier with quite satisfactory results, but yes, they have a very punchy character, no softies here. If an amp is slow and muddy, they can be of great help... Never tried them in a CDP.
