OK. You're right. As I said, I don't care. People can buy tubes where they wish. I'm sorry I posted any info on this time waster. There was no "attack ,"by you, and you are a decent guy, but for you to say, in effect, don't go to company A as Chris suggests, their prices are high, is of little help. Tube shop has many tubes, some priced nice, some not. I only wished to offer another site to the original poster. The tube store has a later version of the Brimar ECC81 for 24.95. Don't buy it. People pay what the market will bear. God I'm sorry for not skipping the original post. Please Please Please let this go. This has been a worthless discussion but each time I post I start with a wish to clarify and gradually become disenchanted with even commenting on this non-issue to the point where I would almost rather delete my text. Reply to your hearts content; perhaps offering sites where audiophiles can get good tubes at good prices would be a tad more productive than pointing out the chump change involved in buying tubes from the tube shop.
