Where was the attack , Chris ? That is still a slightly expensive price . Dealers who will probably beat the price:Langrex in the UK are one example as are Crowthorne . HJ Ford in Canada has good prices on a lot of UK tubes . Ebay is another example where you can pick up the odd bargain . Audiogon is another (with US dealers selling NOS Mullard Cv4024 for $20 each) . Check it out , do a search on Ebay , Google , Audiogon and you'll find the real bargains , I do . Me ? Discouraging ? Noooooo ! Read my previous posts regarding tubes in general and alternatives . But I can tell you that the prices some people pay are more than slightly over the top , people are falling for the BS banter and the prices which are being pushed up . You can't say to me you have had tubes shipped from Europe and not been stung by customs either ? There are a few ways round things as I suggested . You will be liable to pay the same as the VAT plus a handling charge by your local postal authority once you have items imported over a certain value , not to mention added delay whilst sitting in customs . Either ask the dealer to 'be creative' with the value or take it on the chin when the postie arives .
