The CV recommended is a nice tube and fatbottle has nice prices. The tube-shopUK.com has carbon plate Brimar ECC81/12AT7 for 15 Pounds Sterling; if you live outside the E.U. you can subtract the 17.25% V.A.T....about $18 US for a very nice ECC81/12AT7. As for the EL34s, I hear JJ E34ls sound good in Jolidas; Triode Electronics.com has them for $45 per matched quad. They have a warmer, more "tube-like" sound than Svetlana or EH; the Svetlana is a great tube, though. Svets have a very precise sound, with deep bass and slightly more delicate treble than the JJ. I am not especially fond of the EH Pentode EL34, but a friend just bought a quad of the 6CA7/EL34 "big bottle" beam tetrode EL34 by EH and raves about them. Chris
